Youth Park @ City Park, Penang – Malaysia State

The City Park, also colloquially known as the Youth Park, is an urban park in the city of George Town in [Penang], Malaysia. Located near the Penang Botanic Gardens, the City Park was opened in 1972 as a recreational area and a green lung for the city’s residents.

True to its name, the City Park contains various recreational amenities, such as playgrounds, a skating rink, swimming pools, a graffiti corner, reflexology paths and an outdoor auditorium, all of which are open to the public. The park is maintained by the Penang Island City Council.

Botanic Gardens, Penang – Malaysia State

The Penang Botanic Gardens, (Malay: Taman Kebun Bunga; Tamil :பினாங்கு தாவரவியல் பூங்கா,Piṉāṅku Tāvaraviyal pūṅkā) also known as the “Waterfall Gardens” because of the cascading waterfall nearby, is a public park situated on Jalan Air Terjun (Waterfall Road) in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The original gardens were established in 1884 from an old quarry site, under the supervision of Charles Curtis, who was the first superintendent.

Penang Avatar Secret Garden is a mini park with lit up garden, trees and structures. The decorative lights change colors in intervals. This night attraction is located on a hill right at the back of the Thai Pak Koong Temple Tanjong Tokong. There is an elevated wooden walkway that takes you around the garden. Follow the path and you will see a giant chess board. As you take the path upwards, you will come across the flower garden with illuminated flowers of different colors at the corner.

Fort Cornwallis is the largest standing fort in Malaysia. The fort never engaged in combat during its operational history. It is named after the then Governor-General of Bengal, Charles Cornwallis, 1st Marquess Cornwallis, who had also been involved in the American War of Independence.

Penang Second Bridge ( Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge Penang Second Bridge)


It connects Bandar Cassia (Batu Kawan) in Seberang Perai on mainland Peninsular Malaysia with Batu Maung on Penang Island. It is the second bridge to link the island to the mainland after the first Penang Bridge.
The total length of the bridge is 24 km (15 mi) with length over water at 16.9 km (10.5 mi), making it the longest bridge in Malaysia and the longest in Southeast Asia. China Harbour Engineering Co Ltd (CHEC), a main contractor for the second bridge was expected to start work on the second Penang bridge in November 2007 and complete the project in 2011, but the completion date was then postponed to May 2012, and later to February 2014.
Construction started in November 2008. To reduce the cost of construction, its design was then modified to resemble the first cable stayed Penang Bridge. The bridge has been built with a large loan from the People’s Republic of China to continue and maintain the economic relationship between China and Malaysia.  The bridge was officially opened on 1 March 2014 at 20:30 MST and was named after the fourteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the late Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Kedah and was assigned with the route number E28.
